Dr. Warburton is a Canadian Institutes of Health Research New Investigator and a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Scholar. His internationally renowned work spans the spectrum of elite athletic performance, childhood health, Quality of Life in the elderly, and the treatment of patients with chronic disease and/or disability (including individuals with heart disease, obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis, and spinal cord injury). His research has been highlighted on numerous media venues including Maclean's magazine, the National Post, CTV, CBC Newsworld, Chalk TV, BCCTV, Vancouver Province, Vancouver Sun, Edmonton Journal, Edmonton CTV, CityTV, Kidsworld Magazine, and CBC radio. Dr. Warburton is currently the Chair of the CSEP Health and Fitness Program of BC, and is an executive member of the national CSEP Health and Fitness Program.
